THE EMDR TRAINING WORKSHOPS TEAM
The core EMDR training team consists of three of the most experienced EMDR clinicians in the UK, one of whom is the President of EMDR Europe and the two others past presidents of EMDR UK & Ireland Association. Each member of the team has a different core profession including clinical psychology, psychotherapy, social work and nursing. This enables EMDR workshops to meet your individual needs in completing your individual training, as well as accreditation and CPD requirements.
RICHARD MITCHELL

Richard was trained in EMDR by Francine Shapiro in 1993/4. He is an EMDR Europe accredited trainer and also an accredited consultant and facilitator. Richard is a founding member of the EMDR Europe Association and the President. He has a private practice where he specialises in using EMDR with people who have been recently traumatised and with people who have survived childhood abuse. He is director of the Trauma Centre, in Harley Street. He has worked internationally as part of the EMDR Humanitarian Assistance Programme to bring EMDR into countries where people have suffered major disasters, civil conflict or war in India, Bangladesh, Palestine, Turkey, Hungary and Northern Ireland. His background is in psychiatric social work and humanistic psychotherapy. He helped develop and lead a pioneering multi-disciplinary 24-hour mental health crisis intervention service. He has published in this area, and has helped establish similar services throughout the UK. |

MANDA HOLMSHAW

Manda is a Consultant Clinical Psychologist whose original training was in psychoanalytic psychology. Manda completed a PhD at Exeter University which received a Senate Commendation. This led to her completing a postgraduate Diploma at King's College/The Maudsley Hospital in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy. Manda was a Consultant Clinical Psychologist in the NHS. She currently consults part time at a private psychiatric clinic, Bowden House, in West London. She is also a founder member and Clinical Director of a national network of Psychological Trauma and Stress Specialists: Moving Minds Psychological Management and Rehabilitation Ltd, also based in West London. Manda worked extensively in trauma settings in the third world. She was trained by Francine Shapiro and uses EMDR extensively in her practice. Manda is a past secretary of the EMDR Association UK and Ireland as well as a member of the accreditation committee. |

DAVID BLORE

David has a background in mental health nursing. He is a BABCP accredited Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist and specialises in EMDR provision for trauma generated within the working environment. He is well known for his work amongst traumatised coal miners and railway workers. He is Clinical Director of David Blore Associates Ltd, a company formed to provide clinical and teaching input to various large organisations. David has had numerous papers published over the past 10 years including two on EMDR cited in the EMDR Institute training manuals. He also contributed to Francine Shapiro's second book 'EMDR: The Breakthrough Therapy'. He is a visiting lecturer to Moscow Psychological Institute, founding editor of The EMDR Practitioner and a Past President of the EMDR Association of UK & Ireland. He is a past membership secretary of the Association. David is currently undertaking research for a PhD at Birmingham University, examining post-trauma growth. |

Sue joined EMDR Workshops in February 2007. Prior to this her medical background was in publishing, as Sue worked for the Nursing Times and then the Journal of the Royal Society of Medicine, following her degree in Communications Studies. She also has experience in marketing, advertising and PR. Sue processes all the applications for our Workshops and Master Classes and is the first point of contact at our office in Wembley.
